Events & Activities

KFA proudly sponsors and helps organize field days throughout the year, offering hands-on, outdoor learning experiences focused on caring for our natural resources. These events are a great way for landowners to connect with others who are planting trees, managing woodlands, and building healthier windbreaks—alongside experts like foresters, wildlife biologists, loggers, and other professionals. Each year, KFA and the Kansas Forest Service also recognize outstanding land stewardship through the Kansas Agroforestry Award and the Forest Stewardship Tree Farmer of the Year. Award winners receive a cash prize, a custom wooden plaque, and a sign to proudly display on their property. KFA also keeps members in the loop about other learning opportunities and available financial support to help put good forestry practices into action.
